The F22 coupe and F23 convertible make up the last compact rear-wheel-drive BMW platform before the 2 Series switched to front-wheel-drive architecture -- a chassis that delivers the classic BMW driving experience in a compact package. The range spans from the 230i's turbocharged four-cylinder to the M235i and M240i with their turbocharged inline-six engines, the latter making between 320 and 340 horsepower and delivering some of the best handling balance BMW has ever built into a sub-1,600-kilogram car. The factory wheels are 17-inch or 18-inch cast units, and a forged monoblock upgrade sharpens every dynamic metric of this chassis.
The F22 and F23 share identical wheel fitment. The 5x120 bolt pattern with M Sport-specific offset accounts for the wider track of the M235i and M240i, the larger brake calipers on the performance models, and the fender clearance under compression. The M240i's suspension geometry is tighter than the standard models, requiring specific spoke-to-caliper clearance that a wheel built for the 2 Series coupe without the M performance package may not provide. Our offset is measured on a real F22 M240i chassis, accounting for both the standard and M Sport brake configurations. The wheels sit flush without spacers.
