An LCI - the manufacturer's mid-cycle update - is not a cosmetic exercise. It routinely brings a revised front end, changed underbody shielding, a different cooling pack depth and a reworked sensor layout. The badge and the chassis code may stay the same. The hardware around them does not.
Front-end components are the most exposed: intercoolers, front-mount intakes and anything that lives behind the bumper. Underbody shielding changes affect exhaust routing clearance. Sensor changes affect whether a pipe needs a boss and where that boss sits. None of these show up in a model name.
A year range is not precise enough if the update landed mid-year. Tell us the build year, and if you know it the build month, and we can check against the specific configuration rather than the generation as a whole.
Usually our parts still fit. Not always. Where a difference exists we would much rather tell you before you order than have you discover it while the car is on a lift. That is the entire reason we ask for build year on every enquiry, even when the chassis code makes the answer look obvious.
